Bee woke up feeling less groggy than usual this morning! Though she had to start her day with a Tums for very mild heartburn, her regular morning nose blowing was actually CLEAN! Are her sinuses finally clearing up? (It's been quite a few months!)
Owl's sugars were a bit high this morning, but we're thinking it had to do with him taking his pills at the wrong time and snacking on a bit of chocolate to erase the Kale and Celery memories. We'll have to be more careful about which fruits and veggies he drinks, because certain ones are high in sugar. And we should be blending the juice with some fiber, too! (For more on Diabetic juicing, click this link!)
Bee is very proud that Owl cut his coffee serving by half, too!
For breakfast, we had a Watermelon Beet mixture:
Yields about 48 oz
1/2 small Watermelon
1 Beet
1 cup baby Carrots
It was still a bit too beety for Bee's liking, so she drank it down and finished it off with a banana. We might try a watermelon cucumber juice, with a touch of mint, tomorrow morning!
For lunch we had a tofu stir-fry with mixed veggies. And then we each sneaked a fried shrimp. We're at an all new low these days... which is why we've been overdue for a diet overhaul.
Without our usual afternoon coffee, this day was a drag for the both of us! So we snacked on the juice leftovers from breakfast that we blended with a banana and a dash of matcha green tea powder for a pick-me-up. (Didn't work.)
Bee snacked on two fried chicken wings while at work. Tisk, tisk.
For dinner, Owl had a broccoli slaw and veggie wrap (Disney's Litehouse sandwich but on a Joseph's flax wrap!) and Bee had Frosted Mini Wheats to use up the milk in the house.
Our evening "snack" juice turned out super tasty!
Bee's Kiwis
Yields 2 cups (or 1 pint)
4 Kiwis
2 Anjou Pears
A handful of spinach/greens mix
2 small organic Carrots
So much for swapping out two meals! But hey, we've only just begun, and we don't really have a lot of strict rules quite yet. Once Owl's sugars and meds are in balance, we'll be trying out a full Reboot. And on the plus side- we're already consuming way more nutrients than we've ever had before. So that's something to celebrate for sure!
