Day 9 of Partial Reboot

Today is "Day 9" of our Partial Reboot juicing experience! We're doing our best (key word is BEST here) to swap 2 major meals a day with Juice fresh from our Omega Vert juicer. We're now allowing only a vegetarian, or "clean" meal for our other major meal, staying away from too many fats or calories. (Though we are still eating up the remnants of whatever is in the house already, like dairy products, etc.) And we've been allowing small, healthy snacks throughout the day, just as we would enjoy any other day! Our point is to ease into the program, so we're taking our time and working our way into it.

Our day began with a visit to Owl's new diabetes doctor, and it was a positive experience! She is impressed with our attempt at improving our health through diet, and so far as long as Owl's sugar levels stay in check, then we should be all right. She is hoping to take him off some of his meds, and we are hoping to get Owl healthy enough that maybe he won't even need any. But that will take some time!

We also chatted with each other what our goals are. So once the new diabetes meds kick in and Owl's sugars are doing okay, we plan to start an ACTUAL Reboot! This should be in about a week, so little by little we're eating a bit less in volume and drinking more.

This is our brunch today, because it was late...

So THIS is the golden beet!
The other stripey one was some other kind, perhaps?

Taste THIS rainbow, Skittles!

Rainbow Rooter
Yields 1 Qt.
2 Red Delicious Apples
2 Golden Beets and their greens
8 organic Carrots
2 cups of Grapes
slice of Ginger

We also made our snack for later on today, when we'll be out and about!

Brunch and Snack for later on!
Kickin' Kiwi
Yields 1 Qt.
7 Kiwis
2 Golden Apples
about 10 carrots
a bunch of Kale (4 leaves?)
1/2 Lime
(tossed in some grapes for more sweetness for Owl)

We're meeting my parents for dinner tonight, and we plan to eat salads and veggies. And we'll be juicing tonight so that we'll have breakfast ready and waiting for us tomorrow! If anything else comes up before we head to bed, it will get added to this post. :)
