Day 5 of Partial Reboot

Today is "Day 5" of our Partial Reboot juicing experience! We're doing our best (key word is BEST here) to swap 2 major meals a day with juice fresh from our Omega Vert juicer. We're allowing any kind of food (though we tend to be mostly vegetarian) for our other major meal at the moment, while our fridge is still full of "solid" food. And we've been allowing small, healthy snacks throughout the day, just as we would enjoy any other day!

This morning Bee went overboard with the juicing...as in she made way too much of it! We are still getting used to how to gage how much stuff will yield how much juice. Oh well, there's enough for today's snack time, too!

Minty Cuke 'n Melon
Warning: Yields 10 cups!!!
1/2 small Watermelon
2 Cucumbers
about a cup of Beets
a bunch of fresh Mint, stems too

At work we tried another mixture for a bit of a tasting (and forgot to take photos)...

Peach 'n Pepper
Yields 2 cups
1 Red Bell Pepper
1 Golden Delicious Apple
2 White Peaches
5 Organic Carrots

and for "dinner"...

Sweet Greens (like, super sweet!)
Yields 1 Qt.
6 Kale Leaves
2 cups Spinach
2 cups Black Grapes
2 cups Carrots

(We'll have to tone it down on the fruit next time.)

And you're going to think we're crazy but we got a second Omega juicer! This one is different from our Vert 330 because it can make things like nut butters and fig bars and frozen fruit sorbets! It's called the Omega 8004 Nutrition Center.

So tonight, we used the bananas we had in the freezer and made some sorbet with it! Frozen solid bananas turned into wonderfully creamy sorbet! Don't be fooled by the wormy images- the texture is amazing!

ohhhhhhhh YEAH!
We are really enjoying the ease of dinner time these days. No cooking. No inventing. Just slap some fruits and veggies in the machine and suck it down. And oh, wait, what's that you say? NO GUILT. Pure goodness in a glass, with more nutrients than either one of us ever has on a regular basis.

If we could only get used to some of the veggies, and do less fruity mixtures, I think this might be a new way of life for us! Isn't that just dandy? :)
